Welcome to WattDR

You are taking part in a new way to save money on your energy bills, connect to your home to monitor and control it, and help the environment by cutting the emissions of carbon dioxide with lower energy consumption. Your WattDR system will allow you to understand your energy use better and help you make informed decisions about how you can save 5%, 10%, 20% or more on your home's energy costs.

Not all electricity is created equally. Some forms of electrical generation use no fuels and create no significant environmental impacts. Others may use fuels of some sort, but they are very efficient and produce much less pollution of any form. Typically the methods to generate the peak power the electric companies must provide are the forms that burn the most fuels and generate the most pollutants of various forms. By reducing your home's demand during the peak hours of the day, you can have a significant impact on the cost of power and the effects that generating that power has on the environment.

We aren't miracle workers. You won't be able to run your AC at 100 percent all summer and cut your costs. But we can help you save money and still remain comfortable. Together we can make your home more efficient in the ways that it uses energy and possibly use some special rate offerings from your electrical utility to enhance the cost savings you can experience.

Finally, WattDR is offering you the convenience of access to your home's energy consuming devices over the internet. From any web browser you will be able to see and control your home, make schedule changes, and review your energy consumption.

As time goes on, we will be adding new devices to the system that will extend the capabilities to other parts of your home and take advantage of improvements in digital communications. For example, we are looking at adding an interface that allows you to send a text message your home to issue commands and review its status. Look for more on that in the coming weeks and months.
